Submission Guidelines

Read before you send. It takes two minutes and saves everyone time.

We love getting submissions from the boating community. To keep things running smoothly and fairly, here are the rules for what we accept, how we review it, and what happens after you submit.

What We Accept

We accept videos, photos, and written stories related to recreational powerboating. This includes boat fails, fishing stories, dock moments, racing content, and anything else that fits the spirit of the site. Content should be entertaining, informative, or both.

Content You Must Own

You must own the content you submit or have explicit permission from the owner to share it. Do not submit content you found on social media without the original creator's permission. Submitting content you do not own is a violation of these guidelines and may have legal consequences.

What We Do Not Accept

We do not accept content that is dangerous, illegal, or that encourages unsafe boating behavior. We do not accept content that is hateful, discriminatory, or harassing. We do not accept content that is primarily promotional or advertising for a business without prior arrangement.

The Review Process

Every submission is reviewed by our team before anything is published. We do not auto-publish. Review typically takes 3-7 business days. We may contact you for additional information or to discuss how we plan to use your content.

Credit and Attribution

We will credit you by name (or handle, if you prefer) when we feature your content. If you want to be credited differently, or prefer to remain anonymous, let us know in your submission description.

Rights and Licensing

By submitting content, you grant What A Piece of Ship a non-exclusive license to publish, share, and promote your content on this site and our social media channels. You retain ownership of your content. We will not sell your content to third parties.

No Guarantee of Publication

Submitting content does not guarantee it will be published. We select content based on quality, relevance, and fit with the site. We appreciate every submission, even the ones we cannot use.
