About What A Piece of Ship

The internet's home for recreational boating chaos, culture, and community.

Our Mission

What A Piece of Ship exists for one reason: to celebrate the beautiful, chaotic, hilarious, and occasionally terrifying world of recreational powerboating. We are not a glossy magazine. We are not a press release distribution service. We are the guys at the end of the dock with a beer, watching the ramp, waiting for something to happen.

How It Started

Every boater has a story. The ramp disaster. The anchor that dragged. The fish that got away — and the one that definitely didn't. We built this site because those stories deserve a home. A place where the community can share, laugh, cringe, and occasionally learn something useful.

Who We're For

Recreational powerboaters. Weekend warriors. Charter captains. Fishing fanatics. Speed junkies. Anyone who has ever backed a trailer down a ramp and thought 'I've got this' — and then immediately did not have it.

🎣

Real Stories

We feature real content from real boaters. No stock footage of people pretending to fish.

😂

No Filter

If it's funny, we'll post it. If it's epic, we'll post it. If it's both, we'll post it twice.

⚓

Community First

This site runs on submissions from the boating community. Your stories make this place what it is.

All Boats Welcome

Center consoles, bass boats, pontoons, jet skis. If it floats and you love it, you belong here.

What A Piece of Ship is a small, independent operation run by people who spend way too much time on the water and not enough time doing anything productive.
